Observation notes: Feeding on flowering Kinnickinnick along with many other butterflies, moths and bees. As to question about hoary or brown elfin on kinnickinnick on Western Pine Elfin entry, no Hoary or Brown Elfin that I noticed, but there was a lot going on and I was focused on trying to get photos.

Coordinator notes: Correct suggested ID. Looks like a female. There may be both Callophrys polios and augustinus may be present at this location since the host for both is Kinnickinnick. The date of your photo (Mid-May) is about the correct time for both elfins (your Western record apparently confirm by Austin Baldini and question you if you saw either of these two elfins).....Mike
