Observation notes: Sunny, in garden in Denver CO. Probably 100 of this kind of moth, on multiple kinds of flowering perennials. Attached photo shows moths on Stachys lavandulifolius.

Coordinator notes: These are Alfalfa Webworm moths, Loxostege cereralis. They indeed had a brief, enormous population explosion about 2-3 weeks ago. I probably had about 100 of them myself on my Alliums around the same time. Anyway, thanks for submitting your sighting!
