Observation notes: Sorry, this is a picture of chrysalises. I was walking around Grant Park/Museum Campus in Chicago (southern end). I looked up, and saw these chrysalises among the new leaves on what I believe are elm trees. They weren't all over the trees, and they weren't found in every tree, but some trees had several. Is there any chance you might be able to help identify what kind of chrysalises these are? I was Googling around and wondered if they are bagworm moths or mourning cloak butterflies? I don't really know what bagworms are but I have seen mourning cloaks in that area of the City of Chicago. Thank you for your consideration!
