Observation notes: I live in Port St. Lucie, Florida and this is where I seen the butterfly. I do have a butterfly garden but this is the first I’ve seen this species. It was not in the garden, it was on the side gutter on my house. It did not stay there for long though then flew away. I’ve read they like vacant lots and we do have one next to us on the side of the house that we seen it. I have seen many other butterflies in that lot before, there’s a lot of low lying bushes and flowering weeds.
