Observation notes: Sunny. 73 degrees. Elevation approx. 2000'. We stopped to observe several butterflies puddling at a roadside pullover on Little Stony Creek Road in the Cherokee National Forest. Also puddling: Pipevine Swallowtails, Spicebush Swallowtails, Question Mark, Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, Eight-spotted Forester. This is near a mountain stream with alders growing nearby. I was able to slowly get quite close. The photo is taken with my mobile phone camera.
