Orange Sulphur
Colias eurytheme

Observation date: April 25, 2020
Submitted by: A_baldini
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Weather: Mostly sunny - partly cloudy and 60 degrees. Notes: Despite the lack of orange coloration, this sulphur has the classic look of an early-season female Orange Sulphur.
Status: Resident

Coordinator notes: I think your suggested ID is correct Austin. The ventral hindwings on early spring eurytheme tend to be darker than those on early spring philodice and it looks like there is orange color to the underside of the forewing which eurytheme always presents and philodice never does so if you can view that part of the wing (may be best to catch, check and then release) that makes a positive ID character for eurytheme vs. philodice.
