Observation notes: On a warm beautiful day me and my kids were going to ride bikes outside whenever I spotted a big green caterpillar with yellow horns/spikes on my daughters bike. I got a stick to pick it up for a closer examination, and started digging online to find out what kind of caterpillar it was. It is an imperial moth caterpillar!! I grabbed a plastic container and poked holes in the lid of the container, put some loose dirt and leaves for food! After a couple of days it started to pupate, and it was an amazing transformation! I've had it for 85 days, it is now in the pupa stage. As far as I can tell it is a female, and I'm hoping to witness the full life span of an imperial moth!!
