Coordinator notes: I'm confused by your reference on Hwy. 33. Were you near the coastal plain or by chance were you in or near the OHV Park in Ballinger Canyon, a locality I have collected myself. If Ballinger Canyon, your Duskywing would be Erynnis funeralis which also has Desert Orange-tips and Mojave Sootywings. But your date is too late for Desert Orange-tips.
