Observation notes: Warm day 75 in butterfly Garden at Private residence, Pupa or large orange sulphur Reared on Pink Pom-Pom's in san Clemente Ca. More Individuals showing up at the coast finally getting the numbers seen in past years. Many new females and Males along with older warn ones. The Light Color females I have Caught and Released have all been worn missing many Scales. I'm starting to wonder if they get lighter due to loosing so many scales. They also look quite large until I catch them an hold them in my hand, then its easy to see that there not as large as they look when flying! Had a Brand new Calif. Dogface also in yard today. Also Lorquins admiral for last two days! Get one every few years! have host trees willow and Poplar for them. Raised 5 Larva and all have ended up being female, have more Pupa and Larva All Adults have been yellow form!
