Observation notes: I observed this morning near the garden bed floor. It is on the stem of a wild persicaria that sprung up in my mixed perennial bed underneath a white birch tree. This bed also contains asclepias (milkweed), actae (bugbane), hemocallis (day lily), persicaria speciosa, amsonia hubrichtii and monarda. It was about 50 degrees F this morning, clear and dry.
