Our summer fundraiser has arrived, and we need your help!
We depend on donations to keep Butterflies and Moths of North America online and free. If everyone who uses this resource makes a donation, we could cover our ongoing costs, develop new features, upgrade the system, and maybe even remove those pesky ads. Please make a one-time or recurring donation to show your support for this valuable source of information. Thank you!
Observation notes: Sunny, light breeze, temps low 80’s, wildflower and zinnas in a field.

Coordinator notes: This is a female Tawny-edged Skipper. The orange dusting on forewing is the biggest indicator distinguishing this species Polites themistocles from Pompeius verna "Little Glassywing". There can be ever so slight orange along wing top edge in P. verna but not to this extent. I was hoping it would have been P. verna as there has not been recent sightings in Kansas. Thanks!
