Observation notes: I was photographing a large group of ferns on the edge of a pond when I noticed this butterfly land at my feet! Later it moved to my shoe and then to my pocket on my pants, The weather was hot and humid, in the 80 degrees F. This photo was taken on the Wetlands Trail at the Chippewa Nature Center.
