American Brindle
Lithomoia germana

Observation date: August 09, 2019

Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: 20 mm FWL. Sat in the net with an unusual posture, like some of the smaller moths with its wings folded into a sharp triangle as in the first picture. This large moth was attracted to a 100 w black light. It did not land and I caught it in a net. When I shone a flashlight at it, it went comatose - legs got stiff and it flopped over on its side and did not move. After I took the light off it, it eventually revived and flew away.
