Observation notes: This caterpillar was blown out of a Black Walnut tree during a storm, and one of the photos submitted shows it eating a Black Walnut leaf. I am submitting these photos in case Catocala caterpillars have distinctive markings. Otherwise, it shall remain a mystery! I released it back onto a low hanging walnut branch.
