Observation notes: hot July day, late summer. This type of butterfly is a newcomer to my garden. I saw one a few days earlier in a different spot, it may have been a different one. This shot the butterfly was on a Porterweed, and other it was on a Duran (golden dew drop) both members of the Verbena family.
