Coordinator notes: Common and White Checkered-skippers are thought to be two forms of the same species. they are indistinguishable to the naked eye, sadly. Geographically, commons prevail in northern NM while whites prevail in the south. at least that was the story many years ago. who knows what is happening nowadays. I'll accept it as common, but just know that no one will ever know from a photo which it is :^)
