Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I noticed this well-camouflaged caterpillar resting in the shade of a bench on a stone patio. There are mostly Quaking Aspen, but also a Garry Oak nearby. When I touched it gently it reared it's larger end. Also, notice the protuberance near one end and the bright orange peaking through the segments near the other end. I'm very interested to know what type of caterpillar this is. Thank you!
