Observation notes: NUMBER: 20190324 SPECIES: White Peacock, Anartia jatrophae (Linnaeus, 1763) SUBSPECIES: White Peacock, Anartia jatrophae guantanomo Monroe, 1942 NUMBER, SIZE, SEX: 1, large, unknown DATE, TIME: 24 March 2019, 3:29 PM LOCALITY: East side of Fishtail Lake, Lely Palms, Naples, FL 34113 LATITUDE, LONGITUDE: 26º6’22.1” N, -81º42’46.7” W [26.106147, -81.712969] HABITAT: lake edge adjacent to woods DATA REPORT: iNaturalist.org #??? OBSERVATION: BEHAVIOR: Apparently feeding on nectar of Florida Snow. HOST: low-height Florida Snow (aka Florida Pusley), Ricardia scabra Linnaeus, 1758 OTHER SPECIES: na COMMENTS: This is one of the species sold for release at weddings in Florida. IMPORTANCE: Anonymous (2019) did not list this species from Collier County. However, Lotts and Naberhaus (2017) list it from the Naples Botanical Garden. iNaturalist has a record from West Palm Beach in SE Florida. Common species. OBSERVERS: Dr. Ernest H.
