Observation notes: Discovered that my new bing cheery tree had been defoliated overnight. Found a very large caterpillar at the base of the sapling. Identified it online as a Privet moth caterpillar. Very distinct coloration and size. I could not find any references stating that the Privet month is now found in North America. The garden/orchard site is 5 miles from the Canadian border. Any
