Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Seen sailing around and nectaring on some Butterfly Bush blossoms for about 30 seconds at a time, that were right next to some Fennel, then sailed across the path to some pink cone flowers and nectared there for about 30 seconds, came back to the Butterfly Bush and briefly fed again, circled me a couple of times, then flew around a Rose of Sharon shrub though it didn't land, then flew up into an Oriental White Oak tree where I followed it. It stayed on the tree's leaves for a couple of minutes, then flew off from the gardens to across the street. Size: Approx. 3.5 - 4" wingspan. Weather: 90 degrees, 54% humidity, mostly sunny skies.
