Date notes: Not on a plant, just landed on a lawn chair on a deck next to Lake Huron the night before on Jul 26. Stayed overnight & these photos were from the time above. Lots of cottonwood, oak and beech trees adjacent to the cabin.

Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: wingspan was about 6" from tip to tip. The body was bright orange on the back, but very dark brown on the bottom and the legs. Antennae were white not black. The other photos I see of antheraea polyphemus have orange undersides and black antennae, so I wasn't sure if it was that or not.
