Observation notes: Seen on the trunk of a Locust tree, dorsal view. (A Question Mark butterfly was about 1' up above it, wings up.) Was in an area at the park bordering a larger wooded area. Stayed there a minute or so then flew about 10' away to the roof of a picnic shelter at the park, where it moved around a little bit and stayed up there for at least 7 or 8 minutes. Size: Approx. 2.5-2.75" wingspan. Weather: 90 degrees, 55% humidity, sunny skies with lots of large clouds.
