Dainty Sulphur
Nathalis iole

Observation date: June 24, 2019
Submitted by: WINGSaloftinKS
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Seen in a fairly new meadow that's been planted with Plains Coreopsis, Yellow Prairie Coneflower, Red Clover, Thistle, wild Aster/Fleabane, Sheep Sorrel, Crown Vetch, some milkweeds, and the occasional wild Quinine... the field looks primarily gold due to the large amounts of Coreopsis. Moved very fast and was very tiny, about 1", then finally came out of the lower plants and rested on some dirt and gravel for a couple of minutes. Weather: 79 degrees, 45% humidity, clear skies, sun beginning to set.
