Eight-spotted Forester
Alypia octomaculata

Observation date: June 06, 2019
Submitted by: sunstarz77
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Noticed this gorgeous fellow/lady on my garage gutter downspout. I had to find out what it was, so my research began. Black winged insect with white spots and orange on leg joints. His/her wings were tucked in so it looked a bit odd. When the wings spread, I realized I had a moth. I believe this is an Eight-Spotted Forester!
