Observation notes: Last year around this time, we saw the same type of moth in the same location, although it was larger than this one. It stayed around for a day or so (it was raining heavily at that time and the wings seemed wet and a little tattered) and then it took off when it dried out. There is no rain today but heavy smoke from wildfires in Canada. This time it only stayed around for a half a day, mostly clinging to the door.
