Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: We first saw it at 2:00 pm. It was on the outside about 1/2 way up a screen door, not moving. It was sunny all day, 70° - 80°. The moth was in the most sun and warmest temperature. The ground below is plain dirt, and 20 feet from an area with several large azaleas, rhododendrons, weeping cherry trees in bloom; deciduous trees without leaves; large spruce, pine, other evergreens; 15 busy bird feeders. It didn't move, even when I was almost touching it with the camera. It stayed until at least 6:00pm. We made sure it was alive and put it on a flower.
