Observation notes: This large moth with a wing span of 5.5 inches was seen on a piece of carpet in the garage as you come into our home. She was not moving much, but did move her wings slightly to show her beautiful markings. She also blended well with the color and texture of the carpet. The temperature was mild in the low to mid 70's with occasional rain and thunderstorms. We were actually under a Tornado Watch, which is not uncommon this time of year.
