Observation notes: I have never seen one of these in New Mexico, but here it is! :). This was flying towards my porch light, then landed on me, then on the wall. After taking the picture, I turned the porch light off and it flew away. I've included a picture of a ruler next the squares on my nightgown so you can get an idea of exactly how large this specimen was. About a minute after it flew away, light rain and thunder began. It is 53 degrees. We have recently had more rain than is usual for spring.
