Observation notes: The caterpillars move very fast, always on the go. They seem to like the weeds that grow here in the High Desert in California. It's currently 68 degrees Fahrenheit in the middle of the day and the caterpillars are out and about in the search of food. They keep getting onto the concrete of the porch and burning up because they don't have the sense to find shade. They're very gentle and don't sting when picked up and they have sparse, very soft hair.
