Observation notes: I went inside the house to get a tape measure after I took the pictures . When I returned there was a robin in the vicinity of the caterpillar. I didn't see the caterpillar again. I am pretty sure the robin ate it. There are several birds that have learned to follow me. They associate me with insects and worms, since I work in the garden and turn over soil.
