Observation notes: First Swallowtail of the season, sighted hilltopping at the summit of Mt Calavera in Carlsbad. It moved locations several times, and seemed active even when landed. But was in residence for at least 8-10 minutes while I was observing. Very clean-looking individual.

Coordinator notes: This is the species I would expect near the Coast. Desert Swallowtails are more likely to the east in the desert but the two species do narrowly overlap ranges.
