Painted Lady
Vanessa cardui

Observation date: March 21, 2019
Submitted by: RichHubie
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Warm sunny day in between rainy days. There were 20 to 30 Painted Ladies in just a small area. Most I’ve seen at once at anytime surveying butterflies. It appears that the mass migration of these butterflies is also moving along the California Coast.
Status: Migrant
