Coordinator notes: Correct, the Silvery Checkerspot. In my experience, the single best way to identify the Silvery Checkerspot is the large white pupil within the black spot on the dorsal hindwing; no other crescent/checkerspot in Colorado has this characteristic. The ventral hindwing also helps tremendously in distinguishing this species from look-alikes such as the Gorgone Checkerspot.
