Our summer fundraiser has arrived, and we need your help!
We depend on donations to keep Butterflies and Moths of North America freely available. If everyone who uses this resource makes a donation, we could cover our ongoing costs, develop new features, upgrade the system, and maybe even remove those pesky ads. Please make a one-time or recurring donation to show your support for this valuable source of information. Thank you!
Date notes: Part of butterfly tour, led by Linda Cooper. A target species, which had been previously reported by a knowledgeable resident of the property.
Submitted by: Paul Prappas
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Other possible species that this bug fits are: Twin-spotted and Yehl, but their flight times are earlier and their ranges further up the coast. Only the Double-dotted is a LRGV species. Also, the Yehl's ventral side is generally more reddish in colour.
