Observation notes: Time: 2:40 p.m. Weather: Warm, fairly calm, and mostly cloudy (it rained at one point). Habitat: A mix of prairie, shrubland, and coniferous forest characteristics. Notes: This was the first and only Common Checkered-Skipper that I observed on the Well Gulch Trail this year. It landed on a mostly non-flowering aster, perhaps trying to nectar if possible.
