Observation notes: Found in rich fen near Lake Superior. Many species of sedge (Carex) with C. lasiocarpa being most abundant in fen along with bog buckbean (Menyanthes trifoliata), bog laurel (Kalmia polifolia), and bog willow (Salix pedicellaris).
