Coordinator notes: Correct, a very late-flying Common Checkered-Skipper attempting (in vain) to nectar at an already-dying rabbitbrush. Along with surviving overnight freezes and generally colder temperatures, it's always a challenge for late-flying Colorado butterflies to find nectar. Late-blooming asters, such as mums and dandelions, are usually their best bet.
