Coordinator notes: This observer is usually correct, and canna is a typical food source, but I'm unable to verify the sighting. I'm not very familiar with Calpodes ethlius, and I haven't found many good photos of the chrysalis. I'd be grateful if someone more knowledgeable about the Hesperiidae had a look at this.
Looks like a typical Brazilian Skipper chrysalis. Nice find Dennis Forsythe
