Observation notes: I discovered this caterpillar on a sunny day on my covered back porch. The nearest plant was just my freshly cut lawn grass. My cat was the one who alerted me to its presence. I ushered it back to the lawn and it seemed like it was trying to nestle into the sparse grass right there. When I came out later, it was gone.
