Coordinator notes: The checkerspot you photographed is the high altitude subspecies of the Variable Checkerspot (Euphydryas anicia brucei). Edith's Checkerspot is found a lower altitude and mostly in western Colorado, being found in eastern Colorado only in northern Larimer County.
