Observation notes: These caterpillars are everywhere in our backyard, especially in the grass. A lot of them are also crawling on the house and the back patio area. At times, especially in the latter part of the day, we can see so many of them that the grass appears to be moving on its own. I noticed that they are attracted to the crabgrass and weeds. We've been living here for 3 years now and we've never had this happen.
