Harrisimemna trisignata

Observation date: August 23, 2018
Submitted by: Lizvanduyn
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Found this caterpillar crawling in the doorway of Havenwoods Environmental Education Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Did not find on or near a host plant. When picked up, the caterpillar quickly reared up like the first image and resembled bird droppings. Later photos of it walking. Look like there is some of an earlier instar stuck to the hairs on its head.
