American Dagger Moth
Acronicta americana

Observation date: August 21, 2018
Submitted by: Kristalmds
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: It dropped from a large Oak tree in my yard. laid still for a few min, then it began to crawl again and eventually made its way back to the tree. It was about 2-3 inches white fur and long black wisker looking hairs on its back in 4 places. From what read, its white fur indicates its older, younger ones are more yellow and it may sting
