Observation notes: Observed nectaring on Prairie Verbena in Gallina Park Greenbelt at approx. 6,500 ft. elevation. Dominant plants here include One-seed Juniper, Tree Cholla, and grasses, especially Blue Grama.

Coordinator notes: Next time you see one of these sootywings, try to get shots of the underside. Common Sootywing is very routine, but it has a very interesting sister species that would be nice to get - Mexicn Sootywing. For upperside photo only, the default ID is Common Sootywing.
