Observation notes: Sunny, humid, 89 degrees. The butterfly was flitting above the pavement, and briefly rested on the road. Nearby were sycamore, oak, maple, beech, white pine, wild cherry, redbud, dogwood, lespedeza, wingstem, lesser vinca, multiflora rose, autumn olive, joe pye weed, iron weed, milkweed, dogbane, mixed grasses.
