Weidemeyer's Admiral
Limenitis weidemeyerii

Observation date: July 15, 2018
Submitted by: Lisahug
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: montane meadow at about 10,000 feet. I fell in love the moment I saw it. And then it flew directly toward me from afar and landed on me. I must have smelled good to it after not showering for 3 days.
Status: Resident

Coordinator notes: I had Weidemeyer's Admiral in Bridgeport Canyon July 29th (2018) and went to a city park in Noble Riley Trails Park in Oklahoma (June 10, 2018) after not showering for 3 days. All the Hackberry and Tawny Emperors came out of the 60 foot high Hackberry Trees and landed on me to drink my sweat. Deep Woods Insect Repellant does the same!-Ken Davenport
