Observation date: June 28, 2018
Submitted by: A_baldini
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Time: ~2:45 p.m. Weather: Hot, calm, humid, and sunny. Habitat: Short-cut path next to a native tallgrass prairie. Notes: I captured this butterfly as it nectared on a white clover growing up from the path, which is apparently rare for emperors. After photographing it, I released it, and it again landed to nectar, this time on a bird's foot trefoil. After about 30 seconds or so, it flew off.
