Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Saw quite a few Painted Ladies (and Monarchs, and some other butterflies and insects) at a park on this morning in some butterfly beds in a courtyard in the center of the park. This one was on a magenta zinnia (those seemed to be very popular with all the butterflies I saw!) and moved quickly, then would flutter away to some other flower. Other nearby flowers were tropical milkweed, salvias, yellow daisies, and more. Weather: Approx. 80 degrees, and 40% humidity. Size: Approx. 1.75-2"
