Coordinator notes: We have both hesperis (Northwestern Fritillary) and atlantis (Atlantis Fritillary) in Colorado. The disc on the underside of the hindwings is always reddish on hesperis - as is the one in your photo - and dark chocolate on atlantis and the spots are smaller and more round. Both of these occur together on the Uncompahgre Plateau in Delta and Montrose County and probably on Grand Mesa (I have gotten hesperis there but not atlantis which usually occurs up much higher).
