Observation notes: As the sun went down, several of these and some Mormon Fritillaries went to roost on some native thistles (unknown ID).

Coordinator notes: There are two different fritillaries that use to be placed into the one species atlantis. The one in your picture is the reddish disc one which is hesperis. The Atlantis Fritillary has a dark chocolate disc color (less reddish), sometimes approaching black and the silver disc spots are rounder. Mike
